Dr Rosaria Marron and Mr Pedro H. Campos
At Education & Development Solutions (EADS), our vision, mission and values are built on the bedrock of the power of education to transform lives. We believe in leveraging this amazing tool for wider social transformation. As EADS continues to grow and respond to the sector, we have expanded our portfolio by engaging and collaborating with various organizations. We have also extended our areas of expertise to include Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), Numeracy and Literacy Assessments for Early Childhood and Early Grades, and also Education for Children with Disability/Special Needs Education.
Since we started our work 2 years ago, the education sector has seen substantial investment with some key gains, opportunities and challenges especially in Africa. With such a young population — 60% of Africa’s population is under the age of 25 (World Economic Forum, 2022) — key stakeholders have been harnessing the continent’s demographic dividend and investing in human capital with the view to deliver huge impact and results in and for African people. As the sector continues to mobilise political ambition, action, solutions and solidarity to transform education, EADS has strategically responded by setting up a satellite office in Zambia to be our Africa hub.
To support our satellite office in Zambia, EADS brings on board Ms. Nyonde Ntswana. She has over 15 years’ practical experience in the development sector including management of development programmes and implementation, partner management, grant management (donor reporting and compliance), research, fundraising and communication.
Her work experience has primarily been with non-governmental and civil society organisations and communities, with a focus on various social development issues including women’s rights and girls’ education, emergency responses, livelihoods, governance, social accountability, and policy engagement. She has also been involved in strategic research both for civil society organisations and communities aimed at informing programming and contributing to evidence-based advocacy for policy change, legal process, and action. We are looking forward to working with her and drawing on her experience.
