Deirdre Naughton

Deirdre is an Education, Communications and Advocacy Specialist of over 17 years’ experience. With a base degree in Education and French she has several years experience in both frontline and managerial roles in the primary education sector. She undertook further study in the fields of International Development and Political Communications and her carefully chosen sequential roles enabled her to cultivate a proven, integrated skill set grounded in the quality education sector, enriched by experience in international development and political communications roles. As a proactive leader and manager, she is comfortable carrying high-level responsibilities independently and to tight deadlines. She has led substantial communications managerial work in the international education and NGO medical humanitarian sectors with several UNICEF Country Offices and with Medecins Sans Frontieres.

Deirdre possesses tried and tested competences in the areas of: programme planning and strategy design; programme management and monitoring; advocacy strategy design and delivery, all of which are bolstered by experience in the specialist areas of communications and peacebuilding through education. Deirdre consistently demonstrates clear commitment to the values at the heart of quality education, communications, advocacy and sustainable development and has proven analytical, problem solving and financial management skills coupled with noted diplomatic and persuasive interpersonal skills and an ability to work excellently within and leading teams, as well as autonomously.
