Dr Sumera Jabeen

Sumera joins EADS as a partner, with over seventeen years’ experience in the social development sector in Asia, Africa and Australia, working directly with disadvantaged communities, in rural and urban areas as well as providing technical support from a distance. She has over thirteen years of experience specifically focused on monitoring, evaluation and learning of development projects with national and international NGOs. She has a rich experience in setting up and running monitoring systems and conducting and commissioning evaluations of development programmes of different scales and in various sectors including economic development, natural resource management, education, nutrition, gender equality and women’s economic empowerment and capacity development. Sumera also has specific experience in gender equality programming, alternative adult and child education and training. 

She has extensive experience of working in various cultural and socio-economic contexts and is exceptional at working with cultural sensitivity, developing effective working relationship with her colleagues, partners and other stakeholders. Besides, she has excellent oral and written communication skills and can tailor knowledge products according to the needs of various audience. She has presented at various conferences and has published her work in prestigious academic journals. 

She holds a Masters in Assessment and Evaluation and a PhD in Evaluation and International Development from the University of Melbourne, Australia. She is well versed in quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research and evaluation. She is passionate about including voices of the marginalized into development research and evaluation and promoting the use of findings for improvement of development initiative.
